Guaíba supera 5 metros, na maior enchente da história de Porto Alegre

O nível das águas do Lago do Guaíba superou, neste sábado (4), a marca dos 5 metros, na maior enchente da história de Porto Alegre. A a cheia inunda o Centro Histórico da capital do Rio Grande do Sul. E bateu, na noite de ontem (3), o recorde histórico de 4,76 metros, registrado em 1941.

O grande volume de chuvas registrado desde a última segunda-feira (29) já atingiu 281 municípios e 377,4 mil gaúchos. A tragédia climática já causou 56 mortes, de acordo com o balanço mais atualizado, divulgado às 9h da manhã deste sábado (4), pela Defesa Civil do Rio Grande do Sul.

Na capital gaúcha, mais de 60 bairros devem ficar desabastecidos, por causa da desativação das operações das Estações de Tratamento de Água (Etas) Moinhos de Vento, São João e Tristeza, na manhã deste sábado. Segundo o Departamento Municipal de Água e Esgotos (Dmae), o motivo da suspensão é o alagamento das estações de bombeamento de água bruta, localizadas na avenida Voluntários da Pátria e Padre Cacique.

O prefeito Sebastião Melo (MDB) alertou, na manhã de hoje, que o dique que represa águas do Rio Gravataí voltou a extravasar, ao lado da Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs). O chefe da prefeitura da capital gaúcha orientou que comunidades ribeirinhas precisam deixar o local, com apoio do Exército e Bombeiros, ao indicar que haverá espaço de acolhimento às vítimas.

“Nesta enchente histórica, tivemos madrugada muito intensa de resgate de moradores. São quase 2 mil pessoas acolhidas em 8 abrigos temporários mobilizados pela prefeitura com parceiros. Estamos montando mais estruturas para a demanda crescente. Força total para acolher”, informou Sebastião Melo, na manhã deste sábado.
