RS tem 83% das cidades afetadas por catástrofe que matou 95 gaúchos

A catástrofe climática histórica que já matou 95 e feriu 372 gaúchos já atinge 83% das cidades do Rio Grande do Sul, de acordo com o balanço atualizado pela Defesa Civil estadual, na manhã desta quarta-feira (8). O relatório que relata ações de resgate contabiliza 414 cidades afetadas, do total de 497 municípios do estado.

Já são 1.450.078 de pessoas afetadas, com quase 159 mil desalojados e 66,4 mil vítimas acolhidas em abrigos. Além dos 95 mortos confirmados pelas enchentes, há 128 desaparecidos e quatro mortes em investigação.

O município de Eldorado do Sul, por exemplo, teve 100% de sua área urbana atingida. O que levou o prefeito Ernani de Freitas (PDT) a decidir evacuar toda a cidade, cujo Centro ficou completamente inundado, e a população teve que se abrigar em trecho de rodovia.

“Só pode ficar aqui no nosso município quem terá condições de ficar trabalhando para fazer o rescaldo [de limpeza] da cidade. Porque a cidade está sem água, sem luz, e tomada pela água [das enchentes]. Então, se Deus quiser, apesar de todas essas dificuldades, nós vamos conseguir sair dessa e vamos recuperar a nossa cidade. Eu sei que será difícil. Vamos demorar pelo menos um ano para recuperá-la”, disse o prefeito.
